Julie Felix

Originally from Santa Barbara in California of mixed Mexican and Native American ancestry, Julie came to the UK in 1956 and became an icon of folk music, rising to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s—reportedly the first folksinger to fill the Royal Albert Hall in 1965 when The Times described her as 'Britain's First Lady of Folk'. Strongly committed to social issues (especially human rights in Latin America), Julie remains amazingly energetic with much new material.
